| D-tails What's in a name? An Avatar has appeared whenever order, justice and mortals are endangered. AKA: Tar Temperament Avatar is a friendly, curious, steady K9 with plenty of play drive. His perseverance and bond to handler is strong. Breeding Avatar Von Grunberg comes from Grunberg Shepherds, located in North Carolina. He is AKC registered DN25581604. His health and temperament are guaranteed. His lineage is from German working lines and include dogs involved with Search and Rescue, Schutzhund, Police K9's and Personal Protection. Sire: Echo Vom Kosmisch Tal DL749103 Dam: Sonia Von Grunberg DN09488607 Puppy Raising Avatar has been raised in a home environment as the only puppy in the household. Crate and x-pen trained for housebreaking and to ensure no separation anxiety. His is very good at being left alone. There was an intensive socialization program with focus on: 1) other puppies through 7 weeks of twice weekly puppy classes at 10 weeks of age 2) with people of all ethnic backgrounds and ages 3) situational exposure to new developments with emphasis on problem solving (ie: tunnel investigation, hidden items/people, construction areas) 4) environmental (rural, urban, family, veterinarian, crowds, modes of transportation etc.) Health Avatar has been raised with physical activity as a priority, and his agility and muscle tone show excellent overall fitness. Avatar has received traditional core vaccinations including: Distemper, Parvovirus, Hepatitis, Para influenza and Rabies. Food intake: Acceptance of all food items introduced, is currently on Taste of the Wild with various additions of puppy specific dry dog food, and additives of fresh veggies and fruit, meats, coconut oil, milk products. Training We use a combination of luring and marker training with our K9's with play and affection as motivation and reward. His obedience is focused on life skills, and he is started on Tracking and Article Searches for Search and Rescue work. Avatar's training with us was completed with four additional assistance tasks: Returning dropped objects to handler's hand on command, opening latch type doors, locating and bringing a cordless phone on command, assisting handler to regain footing should they fall. |
