Obedience Classes
Life Skills Basic
For all ages of dogs, and we offer this class to specific groups if
needed, such as dogs under 20 pounds.

We turn tails on traditional obedience by making the "chore" of
training your dog disappear.
This class covers:
  • basic commands (sit, stay, down to name a few)
  • use of games to keep learning interactive
  • how to use life rewards as training opportunities
  • reducing unwanted behaviors
  • working with K9 under distractions
  • walking on lead
  • bite inhibition
  • tips for everyday living with your K9 companion
Life skills basic is offered as a six week course, one day a week.

Life Skills Advanced
For all ages of dogs
Does your K9 have the basics covered but needs to learn to do them
better?
Each week we focus on one life skill and improve the skill through
proofing.
  • door manners
  • jumping up
  • walking on lead
  • stay under distractions
  • heeling
  • participants requests
  • test for Canine Good Neighbor
Using games and fun interaction, the dogs learn to apply basic skills to
everyday life situations.
As we only allow 5 dogs per class, trainer help and attention to each
handler is personalized.
Dogs attending this class must know the basic commands already,
sit/down/stay (at least for 1 minute) and should be OK around other
dogs/people while on leash.
Life Skills Advanced is offered as a 6 week course, one day a week.
Beyond Class Workshops
Tracking Dog for Beginners and Tracking Dog Alumni
Tracking is a great way to spend time with your K9, and a
great alternative to the boring walks around the block. It is not
just for police or search and rescue groups.  It can be a family
outing, and very rewarding for both K9 and humans.  By the
end of the weekend, dogs will be able to follow short trails to
locate a "quarry". So bring a friend, and "get lost" in a
weekend of fun and learning.
We offer weekend tracking seminars several times a year.
Why not come out and learn something new?  Our past
participants rave about our weekend of fun and learning.
Alumni Weekend - Another weekend of more advanced
learning and practice.  Calling all quarry to join us - we may
even step out into the night for a track.

Puppy Palooza Two Day Workshop
For puppies under 5 months of age, we have a workshop for
you!  Two days of excellent education, training, socialization
and fun for both K9 and handlers.  Guest speakers help make
the weekend a well rounded investment of time.  Come out
and join us.  Puppy and family approved workshop.

Total Recall (come when called) One Day Workshop
An open format workshop where tips for successful "come"
will be covered as well as avoiding bad habits for this most
important life skill.  Exploring this command from the K9
point of view will allow handlers the possibility of setting the
dog up for success in the future.  At the end of the workshop,
a step by step proofing method will be given out to ensure the
recall continues to improve in various environments.
This workshop can be also be booked independently.

K9 Body Language
This two hour workshop covers some of the subtle ways dogs
communicate using body language.  Through pictures and
video, you can learn to better understand what your K9 is
trying to communicate to you and other K9's.
This class is for humans only, (K9's already know this stuff) and
is available for independent bookings.

Quit Pulling!
This afternoon workshop covers techniques and methods to
help teach your dog to quit pulling when on leash.  Also
covered are some possible reasons "why?".  There are demo
dog positions AND observation only positions for this
workshop.  We also share simple drills and tips on relationship
building to get your K9 more focused on you during walks.

Dogs and Storks
2-hour workshop is bursting with tips and information that
gets families started immediately in preparing for life with a
dog and baby under one roof.  Families will explore the subtle
language of dogs, ways to include their dog before and after
baby arrives and so much more!  This class is for humans only,
and is available for private bookings.
