Obedience and Fun 101

“ The supreme accomplishment is to blur the line between work and play.” Arnold Toynbee

We turn the tails on traditional obedience classes by making the “chore” of training your dog disappear.

Training includes:

  • using games to keep the learning interactive

  • how to use life rewards as training rewards

  • reducing unwanted behaviors

  • basic commands (sit, stay, down, to name a few)

  • working the K9 with distractions

  • walking on lead (who's walking who?)

  • bite inhibition

  • tips for everyday living with your K9 companions

Prove it!

“If you get to thinking that you are a person of some influence, try ordering someone else’s dog around.”

Will Rogers

So you think your dog is pretty good with the commands and you are ready to learn some new things?

Topics covered are:

  • learning some new tricks (even for old dogs)
  • proofing your dog in a controlled environment
  • training your K9 to pass the Canadian Kennel Club Good Neighbor Test
  • suggestions are encouraged from the participants for areas of learning.

Tracking Dog for Beginners

" A trained scent dog is a joy forever"

Tracking is a great way to spend time with your K9.  Tracking dogs are trained to follow specific scent trails left by humans.  It is not just for police or search and rescue groups.   It can be a family outing, and very rewarding for both K9 and humans.  There are also tracking titles to be earned, if you are looking for a competitive sport.

We offer weekend tracking seminars in the spring and fall.  Why not come out and learn something new?  Contact us for the latest update on our next weekend tracking seminar.

  • Private Sessions

Private consultations can address specific training needs for you and your K9.

New Puppy?  A consultation will help get you and your new K9 companion off to a great start on your life together.  Many myths can be put to rest, and some new ideas from someone "who speaks the language" can result in a more polite and reliable K9 companion.

Old Dog - New tricks?  Absolutely!  Any dog can be taught, even if they have been around for awhile.

Old dog, new home?  Wonderful - adding a new adult dog to the home can bring lots of fun.  A private consultation can be a golden opportunity to set up your new addition into a successful adaptation to your home.

Questionable behaviors?  Is your K9 exhibiting some unwanted behaviors?  Time spent with someone dedicated to bridging that communication gap can provide some insight into possible causes and solutions.
